Gun control - Argumentative Essay

Guns – Are they a weapon or safety tools? Should Guns be banned?
According to some people the world is peaceful compare to ancient times. However, nowadays life is worse than before due to the fact that deadly technologies such as guns are spreading rapidly in the society. Even though people are granted freedom in our society, it does not mean use of guns is not limited. There are many countries which will not allow the use or selling of guns in their society. The topic of gun control is debated lately everyday in our government body, to oppose it or to support the sale of guns in our society. Even though both sides have their strong arguments in order to support their statements, I truly believe in the ban of guns due to many reasons.

First of all, people, especially the ones who own at least one gun, say that the use of guns actually decreases the number of crimes. Based on some statistics, this statement is true, however what we should see is the number of victims not the number of the crimes. The number of crimes is decreasing, but the crimes that are still spreading are consuming many victims for example accidental gun shots. In fact, the increasing ease to guns actually brings many victims, more teens and children die from gun wounds. We can see from some statistic that the number of victims are influenced by the use of gun, and we can conclude that the spreading use of guns actually brings more victims.

Secondly, as we all know, guns are designed to shoot whether it is to shoot a living thing or a non-living thing does not matter, but it surely is a tool to destroy something. Well, yes it is true that the one that kills is the user and guns do not kill people, because guns are just inanimate tools, however, guns are the tools that triggers people to kill. Firearms also allow people to kill from a certain distance and it enable to kill more than one living thing at a time. Whenever people see a gun, they think that this is the tool to defend themselves, which is true but on the other hand defending ourselves can be done other ways also.

Finally, guns are not primary needs for people who do not have any relation to the military. Guns are not made for the hands of a normal person, because if they fall in to the wrong hands, unnecessary things could happen. From my point of view, the ones that need to use guns are people who are already trained and they use it for something with a good aim such as the military. In unwanted situations people do not think clearly, panic, and get frighten, and in this kind of situation, people with a gun will surely pull the trigger. For people like ourselves it is better to learn something else, there are many better ways to defend ourselves like using martial arts and we do not need to 'kill' the threat.

In conclusion, people only see the decreasing number of crimes, while what they really need to see is the increasing number of victims. Although the number of crimes is reducing with more access to guns, but the number of victims that died because of gun wounds is increasing. Guns are also a tool to 'destroy' something, and even though people who are killing people, guns are the ones which allow people to kill by using them. Guns are not a primary need for us, so it does not matter even if they are banned and we can live without them. To sum up, it is better to ban guns because they are not necessary and guns only bring more victims.

Causes of Terrorism - Cause & Effect Essay

Terrorism has become a systematic weapon of a war that knows no borders. Terrorism is a major threat we have in our society today. We must first understand the causes of terrorism to prevent such acts of danger from occurring. Religious, ethnic, and political issues are the three main causes of terrorism in the society in which we live in today.

Firstly, te majority of terrorism is caused by religious beliefs in which people formulate an idea of how the world and everyone in it should be. These terrorists religions are determined to destroy anything that stands between them and their so called ideal world. One mans vision can change an entire religion. Mental disorder is a prime factor that occurs in the mind of a terrorist leader.  After the terrorist has taken control of a religion, he or she then convince the followers that those who oppose their beliefs are enemies. In the past, Osama Bin Laden had used his power of manipulation in an attempt to turn the Islamic world against the United States.

Secondly, Ethnic terrorism occurs when a person's culture is being threatened by outside forces. These terrorists see the evidence of foreign cultures everywhere in their country. They worry that the way they believe and think is being erased. Ethnic terrorists often seek to influence their own communities more than the country as a whole. They frequently seek to foster communal identity, in contrast to an identity proposed by the state. A secondary goal of the attacks is to create a climate of fear among a rival group's population.

Thirdly, the concept of terrorism may itself be controversial as it is often used by state authorities to delegitimize political or other opponents, and potentially legitimize the state's own use of armed force against opponents such as use of force may itself be described as "terror" by opponents of the state. Terrorism has been an integral part of politics. Dealing with terrorism is therefore not a new challenge, despite the various claims to such effect by resourceful political leaders or those in the modern fear industry.

Terrorism creates a difficult problem for the state. It need not to be the fear inspiring that it has become. In conclusion, I believe we must recognize terrorism as a new type of military aggression which requires governmental action. We must work to deter further terrorist aggression in this decade.

This week

My last week started with a very note. I love to sleep but Monday through Friday i have to get up at 5.00 am as to rush to work, and saturday & sunday i have to come to school. So i didn't get a chance to sleep much. This monday i got a chance to sleep till 8.00 am as i had to go to work late. So it a very nice monday. The next day on tuesday my week became a terrible day for me. I fell from stairs and got my right leg knee hurt and my left foot got hurt. so i was not able to walk properly. We started from home (wheeling) at 10.00 am but reached Elston ave at 11.30am because of traffic. As soon as we reached there, they told us that the documents which we brought with us were not complete. we need more documents to submit. So first we came to BIR for the letter from the school. Then we went back to wheeling to visit Bank of America to get bank statement for residency proof. and then we had to reach back to Driver license office before 3.30 pm. Unfortunately we found traffic again on the way and we reached the office at 4.15pm, but luckily they accepted my documents and they were completed this time. Then i wrote the written exam for driving and i passed the exam and got my driving permit. we reached home by 6.30 pm. At the end of the day i got relaxed finally all set.
